Environmental Health

Environmental Health, a key component of the public health framework, is responsible for the promotion of environmental health and disease reduction through a system of inspection programs, consultation, planning, educational outreach projects and, as a last resort, enforcement action.  Environmental health works to identify and limit exposures to hazardous physical, chemical, and biological agents in air, water, soil, food, and other settings to protect individuals and the community at large.
